About Tetouan

Tetouan

Tetouan is a northern Moroccan city known for its remarkably preserved UNESCO-listed medina and Andalusian-influenced urban heritage. The old city’s lanes and craft traditions contrast with the planned Ensanche district built during the Spanish Protectorate. Visit the Bab El Oqla Museum and Archaeological Museum for cultural context, or travel a short distance outside town to the Tamuda archaeological site. Tetouan offers cultural sightseeing; nearby Martil is a separate coastal town and is not an attraction inside Tetouan.
